Gemma is an experienced podiatrist with an Honours Degree in Podiatric Medicine. You do not need a GP Management Plan to see Gemma, but if you have a referral and are eligible, we will submit your Medicare rebate request to Medicare. With has over 10 years experience, Gemma is available to treat all patients.
Being the lead podiatrist to the Queensland Ballet for the past four years, Gemma is an expert in skin and nail care. Currently patients travel far and wide to have their ingrown toenails and corns removed by Gemma for a more pain free and long-lasting treatment.
Gemma spent many years working as a senior podiatrist in a musculoskeletal specialist clinic. This gave her a deeper understanding of sports medicine, neuromuscular and paediatric management. She uses state of the art 3D printed orthotics, ankle foot orthotics and exercise prescriptions to care for the above.
Originally from Ireland and being an advocate for podiatry, Gemma has spoken on Irish national radio stations, and has given presentations to multiple physiotherapy teams on the role podiatrists play in patient management. Gemma worked alongside Special Olympics Ireland in 2018 giving care to the athletes on their sporting injuries.
Gemma is a movement advocate, and where possible will keep her patients moving throughout their recovery. She knows the benefit of a multi-disciplinary approach and where required will refer you to health care practitioners that she trusts.
